Volunteering

Interested in sharing your knowldege, experience and love of Mare Island with others?

Volunteer as a docent or tour guide with many of our ongoing programs! 
Interested in sharing your knowldege, experience and love of Mare Island with others? From a few hours a week to long term projects that match your skills and interests – we have many opportunities for dedicated, passionate people with an interest in military and local history. We have plenty of  behind-the-scenes opportunities, where you can contribute as well –  from display building (for the Museum) to event monitoring at one of the historic mansions.

Maybe there”s some area of expertise or interest in Mare Island you can contribute that we haven’t even thought of yet! Contact us and let us know!

Display Construction Crew

The construction group meets every Friday, 9am to 4pm, at Mare Island Museum. To find out where your carpentry, electrical, or metal-working skills can help, see Bob, Bill, or John for info; or call John Chamberlin at (707) 226-3564. We also need Painters (both artistic  and structural), Model Makers, as well as Helpers of any kind!
