The Admiral’s Mansion

admirals mansion

The colonial revival Admiral’s Mansion, once the home of the highest ranking officer on Mare Island, is a wonderful location for your wedding reception or business retreat.

Experience the opulence of a mansion of the Victorian era that features an abundance of exquisite details on the main floor: stained glass windows illuminating elegant stairs flanked by hand-turned balustrades; oak floors shining in rich hues; dentine woodwork moldings adorning high ceilings that ease the flow of cool air during the hot summers; beveled and leaded glass cabinets in the dining room; fire places to warm the rooms on chilly evenings; sturdy tables supported by intricately carved wood bases topped with silky marble or lush brocade coverings; an 1893 Steinway concert grand piano; all echoes of  a gentility not often found  in modern homes. This was the home of a man who controlled the civilian world equivalent of a multi-billion dollar business.

The Admiral’s Mansion is available for daily rental, and can accommodate a variety of functions, including weddings, receptions, and meetings.  The home can accommodate 85-90 persons seated inside at tables, or up to 200 persons in the garden.
